My heart goes out to those that have lost their children and friends. I didn't know the Auror, but Evan Rosier had always impressed me as being a driven, genteel, and enthusiastic young man. In all our dealings, he was encouraging, sensitive, and kind. It was an absolute honour performing in the salons hosted by his family, and I cannot imagine the extent of loss for those who knew him far better than I.
Struck down in such a way, and by such a person. It isn't fair, though life rarely is.

So that's how it is, then?
They
I can't --
Very well. I quit. I don't care. I don't remember the Aldertons being one of the ones who tried to be brave, or who
I never said anything!
Just stop, for Merlin's sakes. Stop!
Please.

I can scarcely imagine that it's February already, come and nearly gone. A happy birthday to Mr. Robards! I trust that my sister threw an excellent party for you, yesterday evening? (The only correct answer to this is 'Yes, the greatest of my life!', by the by!).

I realise that these sentiments might come as harsh to those that disagree, but I cannot abide by silence any longer. Good people are getting killed. Benjy Fenwick was a good person. And yet...
Why hasn't the Ministry done anything more about this werewolf problem? They've made Unforgiveables legal, have they not? They should use the Killing Curse on every werewolf that is out attacking people. Isn't that why they made the Unforgiveables legal? To protect us? This problem has been out of hand for too long to be solved with talks of equal rights and ethical treatment of all things. They're killing our people, and they should be met with equal force. And yet they have hitwizards who aren't cleared to get the job done chasing around after these beasts like overworked nannies.
A rabid dog is put down. So should it be with werewolves.
And while I am enjoying the quotations and love poetry, I'm afraid I haven't been in the mood to recite any of my own.

My heart goes out to those that are hurting from the attacks on Hogsmeade as well as yesterday's murder. Words are often inadequate.

I just wanted to make a note here that Paul Zeller is an excellent human being in every which way. Not only did he take me out to Sandwitch on my lunch break, the best sandwich shoppe in Diagon, but he had them bring out a big chocolate cake with my name written in frosting.
Truly, Paul is exactly what the United Kingdom needs in these bitter, difficult times, and if they could figure out a way to duplicate him so that there would be an army of Pauls and big chocolate cakes with my name on it running about, I would be entirely for this scientific venture.
Thank you Paul, for ensuring I don't mope about becoming a crazy cat lady on my twenty-sixth.

Work is thankfully slow this evening. I've divided my time between redoing the promotional signs and memorising a few pieces from Carlos Saludo's Perseus operetta.

It's strange to mourn the loss of a place. I've never done it before. Even when favourite restaurants close, or beloved shoppes go out of business, there's always a feeling of "well, I'll have another opportunity again". But the Brookstanton Memorial Library held such lovely pieces. It hurts almost physically to think of what has been lost.
Thank to you everyone who attended Mrs. Rosier's salon yesterday evening. I hope you were entertained.
And to those of you who have been sending filthy owls to my sister, I hope you realise that postal harassment is illegal under wizarding law, and I've been keeping a very detailed record of all her fan mail received.

Sad day to be a Wanderers fan, yesterday. I wonder what it must feel like to have been beaten by the lowest-ranking team. I suppose it goes to show you that underestimating an opponent is never the clever thing to do in the end.
I'll be singing at Mrs. Rosier's next salon on September 30th at 7:00 pm. Thank you to those who attended the salon last weekend; your support means a great deal.
